International Politics

This research paper aims at critically analysing topics from International Politics. The research question is: To what extent did political, historical and economic changes in Kenya affect the development of its education system?Existing knowledge in this field will have to be assessed by reading and evaluating a large amount of literature. Then, based on the analysis of empirical data and through the elaboration of theoretical reasoning a personal line of thinking will have to be shown. The paper will have to show reasoning, independent thinking, use of theoretical concepts, as well as analytical and critical skills. The theoretical and methodological parts take priority over possible empirical findings. Empirical data is relevant but how the empirical component is justified, how it is interpreted conceptually is highly important. It is also important to show familiarity with theoretical concepts that are relevant to the topic and question and develop a conceptual framework to address them. To do so, it is good to combine together different ideas, epistemological approaches and theories from fields, for example, of politics, IR, sociology, political economy etc.In terms of literature they all have to be academic texts. For the historical part of the question I would start from Kenya’s independence onwards. Please quote everything that comes from a source. Use footnotes with bibliography. Harvard style is ok.Word count does not include footnotes but it does if the footnote is an additional note to a sentence. Please make the structure as organised as possible. For example paragraphs may be divided like this: introduction, historical developments, political developments, economic developments, theoretical approach, analysis of how these developments affected education and its development, conclusion (this is just an example, no need to follow this structure).
