A little about myself: My name is Amanda Maria Caballero. I am hispanic and i migrated from Chile, Santiago. my parents are cuban and my mom is a registered nurse who is now becoming a nurse practitioner. when coming to this country i had a hard time learning english, and my mom to this day struggles with speaking english. she is my inspiration and and has demonstrated to me that anything is possible. she is a single mother who raises me alone and i just feel like being hispanic is the best thing. She has shown me so many things and how to love this country even though loving hers. being hispanic is a great feeling as many of us stand united and it gives me a sense of unity within my community. I love being able to communicate with other people around the world speaking Spanish and hope to never lose that quality. over these past years i have suffered as my mother faced hardships at her job and we had to face finding another home. luckily we never got to that point and we were fortunate enough for her to get back on her feet and thats when i decided to get a job at 16 years old. my mother and her boyfriend that have practically raised me divorced and they have always been very unstable so being in the household was hard. Although i didn\\\”t let it affect my school work, that was not always the case. being hispanic and from another country sure has its benefits but it also has its defeats as we are seen as minority. except i have EXTREMELY proud to be hispanic and will continue to praise this quality.
