Task:
In a chemical plant, a newly developed reducer- tee is to be installed . Due to
unusually high loads on the customer requests a verification by FEM to determine
the stresses that occur and to determine the safety..
The pipe joint is loaded with an internal pressure of 4 bar. At the same time acting on the pipe socket by additions in
1000 mm distance of force P. The connection screws are tightened to seal with a biasing force R

The structure is determined by drawings from customer .
Calculate the design and assign according to the strength . To take account of exceptional events and tolerances in the
material a safety factor of 1.1 is considered. Assign in the flange by whether the tightness of the pipe connection is
still present .
Ways and a pressure of 8 bar after withstanding whether the reducer . Should this not be the case, propose changes to
the design . Calculate the modified design .
Describe the basic procedure of your calculation , the assumed boundary conditions and the structure of the model .
