You should make it very clear what sources of information have been used; where material/information from these sources is quoted it must be clearly referenced using the Harvard Referencing System. (Details can be obtained from Learning Centres).
Using University Level 4 performance descriptors listed below, marks will be awarded for: evidence of professional and logical approach, precision of drawing, technically correct calculations, accurate methodology and approach to site surveying and contract documentation. See the more detailed guidance given for each task.

Submission Guide
The principal aim of this module is to introduce the built environment student to tasks for Construction Manager, namely mathematical problem solving; site surveying within a project team; site organisational skills, health and safety site issues and preparation of site layout plan.
Coursework – portfolio submission – generic appraise
Task 2 Site organisation report and site layout plan (which is not relating to task 1): Refer the housing project drawing attached – prepare a site layout plan for this project and discuss the health and safety issues as well as the site efficiency.
You must attempt all tasks to enable you to successfully pass the module. You should also include within your submission:
• Appendices to support your tasks e.g. annotated drawings, scaled plans and the like – refer to each individual task.
• References using the Harvard style of referencing which must be correctly cited either within the text and then listed in your reference list, or listed in the bibliography list for additional reading material not used for quoted text.
Indicative Marking / Grading Criteria for task 2 (LO1 & 2)
Professional presentation and layout of submission. Appendix correctly laid out, labelled with links apparent and sign posted within main sections.

TASK TWO – PREPARATION OF SITE LAYOUT PLAN AND REPORT ON HEALTH AND SAFETY ISSUES (LO1 & 2)
Refer to the housing project drawing – comprising the new entrance and a number of houses
You will be allocated a group for discussion purposes and development of ideas; however you are required to produce your own individual final report and recommendations.
The report should be approximately 2000 words and is to be accompanied by supporting site layout proposals. The site layout plan issued in the drawing set is to be used as the basis for your drawn proposals.
You must Reference your work using the Harvard system.
The key issues you are to consider include
•Security
•Access
•Storage
•Site accommodation
•Services – permanent and temporary
•Health and safety
•Site systems
•Transportation and material handling – horizontal and vertical
•Plant access and type
•Environmental aspects
•Etc.
Required layout of Task 2:
• Task 2 cover/sheet including contents list, behind cover sheet to include as minimum:
o 2000 word processed report
o Bibliography/references
o Appendices – Annotated site layout plan (not to scale)
