Instructions and Grading Rubric for Personal Leadership Development Plan~worth 20 points~STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP – F. J. Weinberg, Ph.D.Your Leadership Development Plans are personal plans for improving your own leadership behaviors throughout thecoming year. Drawing on what you have learned in class, identify a few areas that you would like to improve aboutyourself so that you can become a more effective leader. The suggested page limit is one page for the first section, between 3-5 pages for the second section, and a timeline on a separate page as an appendix. I expect you to discusssomewhere between one and three major areas that you would like to work on. The emphasis here is more on depth,as opposed to breadth. I approach each development plan from the standpoint that each has the potential to be worthfull credit. However, below I\’ve compiled a list of things you should avoid in order to keep your manuscript at thisThe purpose of this activity will be for you to reflect on and state your areas for development (related to your ownpersonal system of management) that you will work on over the next year or so, and detail how you plan to work onthese identified items. This activity will allow you to explore whether there are any recurring themes with regard toyour strengths and areas for improvement. In this assignment, you should clearly identify several areas you willfocus on for your personal development and state the rationale for selecting those areas. For example, you mightwant to explain that, based what you have learned at some point during this class, you feel that you will need to bebetter at a particular leadership skill for your career or personal interests. I strongly suggest that you discuss howyou plan to use what you perceive as your own existing personal strengths to improve your areas of weakness or tobetter improve other strengths that you believe you hold, but which you wish to improve. The set page limits assume a double-spaced document with 12-point Times New Roman font, with 1-inch spacingall around. However, if you prefer to write a single-spaced document (with double spacing between paragraphs),then please cut the suggested page lengths in half (1⁄2 page for the first section, as detailed below in the gradingrubric; 1-2 pages for the second section). In either case, the appendix, which is a timeline in table format, should bein the form of a single-spaced table. On the following page, please find the grading rubric for this assignment. You will notice that Section 1 isworth 3 points, Section 2 is worth 15 points, and Section 3 (the timeline table) is worth 2 points. Also, you willnotice that, in Section 2 (the meat of the paper), I begin by approaching each development plan from the standpointthat each has the potential to be worth full credit for this section, and have compiled a list of things you should avoidin order to keep your manuscript at this level.Details attached.
Here is the information provided from the client about his goals:
Collaboration is one. Often times I don\’t utilize people, resources and opportunities that are available. Getting to the end goal could be much easier. Short term goals that tie in with bigger goals would be the second behavior. Breaking down the huge goal into smaller benchmarks, thus spreading the workload out over time. Basically eliminating procrastination and digesting smaller chunks of a project to get to the finish line, and delegating in a smart, efficient way. Last would be checks and balances, making sure I hold myself accountable, as well as others working under my leadership. In my current work situation, it\’s very rare that I hold subordinates completely accountable. Since I\’m usually the person responsible for the success of a project, I usually end up picking up the slack for laggers and other shortcomings.!!
