contributed to your internal or external locus of contro
Complete the Locus of Control worksheet and reflect upon your results. Think about what influences in your life may have contributed to your internal or external locus of control. We know that students with an internal locus of control tend to perform better in school; however, many students develop an external locus of control from a young age. Suggest some ideas that educators in elementary school and high school could utilize to develop students’ internal locus of control. How could this help the students in the long run? Provide specific examples and incorporate knowledge from your reading and the published literature (i.e., a peer-reviewed journal article) to substantiate your ideas.
Note: If you decide to share any life circumstances that you believe may have influenced your locus of control, disclose only as much personal detail as you would feel comfortable sharing in a public forum.
