Articles must be:
• Current (within the last five years)
• Related to assessment of special needs
• Selected from peer-reviewed research journals of special education (see below) retrieved from Liberty University Online’s Library Research Portal.
Articles from websites are NOT accepted and will result in a zero for the assignment.

Review must:
• Be typed using Microsoft Office Word (no other computer program is acceptable).
• Include a Cover Page with your name, course #, article #, date of submission and topic.
• Demonstrate an analysis of the author’s thesis.
• Be a synthesis of the author’s main points written in a concise and scholarly manner.
• Open with a strong thesis statement. [Do not begin “This article is about…”]
• Include appropriate in-text citations following APA format.
• Be written according to all APA guidelines including style and grammar rules.
• Include a final personal response to this article written in first person that reflects on how to apply article content to assessing students with special needs within one’s own present or future practice.
• Include a separate Reference page cited with a single source for the original article in APA format.
• Be confined to 1½–2 pages in length.
• Be submitted through Blackboard along with a PDF copy of your original article.
• Be submitted on time.
