Select a behavior patter in which you are most interested in changing. Explain the behavior you have chosen to focus on and why you picked that particular behavior. Be sure to connect your explanation to concepts from the class (study strategies, self care, stress management, or similar topics). Discuss what made you aware of the behavior being a problem needing to be addressed. Also discuss how the behavior is under your control; what gives you (not someone or something else) the power to change the behavior?
Using the Changeology system presented in class, give concrete examples or a brief explanation to support how you know you are in the psych stage of change. Describe your committment to move forward.
Make a plan for the new behavior patter you want to achieve. Be sure to use specific, measurable, attainable, relevant, and time-specific goals. For example, instead of saying you want to “get more sleep,” say you want to be in bed by 11 pm six nights per week and get up at a consistent time on weekdays. Explain how you know your goal meets these criteria. Create a spreadsheet or devise a system that you will use to track your progress.
