What effects does serotonin have on violent behaviour?

* Literature review – definition of lit review and explain why it is the most appropriate source
* Explain why I haven’t used primary research eg – ethical issues etc

* Pros/cons of secondary data sources (emphasis on pros)

* How has violence historically been explained?

4. The relationship between serotonin and violence
* How can serotonin explain violence?
* A history of how serotonin has been understood
* The historical link between serotonin and violence

5. The link to mental health
* Mental health and serotonin levels – depression
* Evidence including positive correlations
* Can serotonin levels affect mentality and whether a person is more prone to commit violent acts?
* Include evidence – case studies, medical support, correlations, court cases where individuals have used mental health as a defence for violent acts (especially those with levels of high/low levels of serotonin)
