Contract Law
Assessment Task:
ANSWER BOTH PARTS: Both parts carry equal marks
Part A
On 10th May, Beckham borrows £400 from his neighbour Victoria. The money is to be repaid on 30th May, when Beckham receives his salary.
On 15th May, Victoria discovers that she is too late to obtain a ticket for a big football match on 25th May. Victoria is distressed.
Beckham offers Victoria his own ticket worth £100 for the match on condition that Victoria forgets about the debt. Victoria agrees as
she is very keen to watch the match. The next day Beckham goes out to buy a television on credit in order to watch the football match
at home. He is hoping to pay off the balance of his credit card when he receives his salary.
On 20th May, Victoria decides she is not well enough to watch the match at the stadium. She gives the ticket back to Beckham and says
she wants her £400 back at the end of the month as previously agreed.
Advise Beckham.

the lawn is mowed regularly throughout the summer;
(c)To Mandy, a local policewoman, £100 for arresting a burglar as he was leaving Diana’s house with a valuable painting under his arm.
