Managing visitors space

Project description
Students will participate in workshops to review and discuss their findings across different visitor attraction types, locations and countries (from project 2) in order to develop a global view of current trends.
The first half of the paper should examine the challenges presented by the patterns and flows of visitors in respect of seasonality, and the impact of major events, economic conditions etc. Students should demonstrate an understanding of the challenges of managing large visitor flows, and the contribution made by spatial design and layout, coping strategies and demand management.
The second half or the paper should evaluate how attraction managers can ensure profitability and success, whilst meeting the needs and expectations of their particular audiences and stakeholders.
The conclusions and recommendations should consider the applicability of theories, concepts and practice from visitor and attractions management to the tools and perspectives of future event managers.
Overall Aim:
To examine the issues in managing large and fluctuating visitor flows and evaluate the tools available to the attractions manager to meet business objectives whilst remaining sensitive to different cultures and beliefs, including those of managers and staff.
