students will turn in a 2-3 page critical reflection. These papers are an opportunity to practice writing critical literary nonfiction, but also serve to synthesize that unit’s ideas and analyze the unit’s texts. As such, the approachto these papers is fairly flexible, but students should follow MLA formatting guidelines (typed, 12-point serif font, double spaced, with standard header and page numbers), and should plan on incorporating the primary text for the unit as well as at least one secondary text. This assignment, as the name suggests, is designed to be reflective, so the use of first person and personal perspective is appropriate for these essays.
