Choose TWO objects from museum gallery (I took picture and upload as file) that fall within the dates 1870 to 1914. The objects you choose should demonstrate your knowledge of TWO of the following three movements in design: the Aesthetic Movement, Art Nouveau, the Arts and Crafts Movement, and the Efficiency Style (the more practically-oriented approach of the German Werkbund).

1.Describe each object carefully. Compare and contrast their similarities and differences. 2. Relate your essay to the theme of the ‘threat and promise’ of industrialization and urbanization at the turn of the 20th century, as well as the way in which the objects you have chosen are the visible expression of different attitudes or approaches to the nature and character of ‘modern’ life or ‘modern living’ and the broad theme of progress – in other words, how did the designers, manufacturers, or consumers of this time ‘imagine’ a design that appropriately reflected and was intended to shape the experience of modern life?

Paper should be 800-1200 words in length, should be in Times New Roman size 12 font, and should have one-inch margins. Please read paper guideline.
